Esty goodies

Here are some onesies I printed, and deciding that I can't just amass baby clothes it is going on etsy. Hope you like them.

The picture of the last one didn't come out quite right, it is printed white fabric with little yellow circles.

I made JAM!

This summer I had a desire to do more myself, to stop buying pre-made, prepackaged, and full of unknown chemicals. I want to know how to do more for my family. So here is my first effort ever at making jam. Its strawberry as strawberries are in season. My mother who claims never to have made jam helped me on my first adventure, it was great fun!
Here are the strawberries I picked in the morning- I couldn't have made fresher jam!
Look at all of the jam I made, I am proud of myself.
I made 3 different varieties of strawberry jam, a long boil (medium sugar) it is the dark jar, classic strawberry (lots of sugar), and a low sugar version.

Yay jam!

Another path

Well the swan made me think... embroidery is interesting.... Said by someone who admittedly does not know how to do this properly. There is something that is sweet and comforting, nostalgic almost about this domestic art. Here is my next foray.

What I am going to do with this I don't know... After I have made it I get tired of it. It could be a cute change purse.

Owl revisited

I gave the onesies I made to my favourite adorable little person (my neice) and my charming and lovely sister was gracious enough to encourage me to share the pictures.

one more just because I love baby feet.

Ok I confess I am a bookaholic

I have been slacking with the making and posting. But I have been busy...reading... bits of this and that. Dreaming of the library I hope to have someday kind of like this
With a very cozy place to read a book, a warm crackling fire, and a delightful cup or in the summer glass of tea. Perhaps I should post my current library which is not like this at all.

Oh dear... I do seem to be lagging...

So I started this blog to prompt me to action to post the things I make and try not to be too concerned with how they end up. Now I am flitting between projects, the ugly ducking dress, still not sure how I want it to look, two very contrasting ideas are swirling in my head and I am not sure which to choose, a new pillow for my recently refinished rocking chair and a bag that I envision myself carrying to get groceries from the summer farmers market. However my indecision has left me with little but scraps, the time has come to pick one! (to do first) Perhaps the bag? Perhaps I'll post sketches.... oh if only someone else could decide....

Oh procrastination how I love thee....

Well I started this blog to move me to action to regularly create things not just wish that I did. Which is not to say that the things that I will make are particularly interesting, noteworthy, or even nice to look. But I decided to have at it so here it goes.

A swan, I am still undecided about adding an eye on one hand a nice little sleepy eye would be lovely. On the other hand.... not sure. I want to make a sweet little dress for my niece when she is a little older. In a dove grey with this as a little pocket on the bottom. Simple, plain almost stoic it will be an ugly duckling dress.....
